When are the 2012 Tony Awards happening?
Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 8 PM.

Where will the Tony Awards ceremony be held?
The historic Beacon Theatre, which is located in New York City at 2124 Broadway between 74th and 75th Streets on the Upper West Side.

Why did the Tony ceremony move from Radio City Music Hall?
For the second year in a row, Radio City is playing host to Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic spectacle Zarkana, which begins performances on June 6.

Who is hosting the 2012 Tony Awards?
Neil Patrick Harris. The How I Met Your Mother star is hosting the ceremony for the third time, having won an Emmy for the 2009 telecast and returning to host in 2011. No stranger to Broadway, Harris appeared in Proof in 2002, Cabaret in 2003 and Assassins in 2004 and played Bobby in the New York Philharmonic’s 2011 concert version of Company.

How can I watch the Tony Awards ceremony?
Tune into CBS from 8-11pm EST to see the presentation of the major awards and performances described below. If you are in New York City on June 10, you can watch a live simulcast on a Spectacolor HD screen in Times Square at a special event hosted by Avenue Q puppets Rod and Lucy.

Will any special awards be presented?
Yes. Bernadette Peters will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award for her volunteer efforts on behalf of animal adoption, and special Tony Awards will be presented to Hugh Jackman and to Actors’ Equity Association. The annual Regional Theatre Tony Award will be presented to Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C.

Who are the presenters at the 2012 Tony Awards?
A starry list of presenters will include Ellen Barkin, Candice Bergen, Jessica Chastain, Sheryl Crow, Nick Jonas, Angela Lansbury, James Marsden, Jim Parsons, Mandy Patinkin, Tyler Perry, Bernadette Peters, Christopher Plummer, Paul Rudd, Amanda Seyfried, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Also scheduled to appear on the broadast are Glee star Matthew Morrison, Memphis star Adam Pascal, 2 Broke Girls star Beth Behrs, Tony winner Tyne Daly (Master Class) and Ben Vereen. 


What Broadway shows will be performing during the Tony Awards ceremony?
The Tony producers promise more live entertainment than ever before, including numbers from nominated musicals Evita (featuring Ricky Martin and Elena Roger); Follies (featuring Tony nominee Danny Burstein); Porgy and Bess (featuring Tony nominees Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier); Jesus Christ Superstar (featuring Tony nominee Josh Young); Leap of Faith (featuring Raúl Esparza); Newsies (featuring Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan); Nice Work If You Can Get It (featuring Matthew Broderick and Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara); and Once (featuring Tony nominees Steve Kazee, Cristin Milioti and Elizabeth A. Davis).

The evening will also include performances by Tony nominated plays, including End of the Rainbow (featuring Tony nominee Tracie Bennett); One Man, Two Guvnors (featuring Tony nominee James Corden) and Peter and the Starcatcher (featuring Tony nominees Christian Borle and Celia Keenan-Bolger.) Also on tap are performances by the cast of Godspell (featuring Corbin Bleu), Ghost (featuring Caissie Levy, Richard Fleeshman and Bryce Pinkham) and The Book of Mormon.

What are the Creative Arts Tony Awards?
The Creative Arts Tony Awards honor the people behind the scenes of Broadway productions. Awards included in this 30-minute “pre-show” include Best Score, Best Book, Best Choreography and Best Lighting, Costume and Sound Design.

How can I see the Creative Arts Tony Awards?
The Creative Arts Awards will not be televised, but clips of the acceptance speeches are incorporated into the three-hour telecast.
