Andrew Keenan-Bolger & More Set for Tuck Everlasting

September 17th, 2015 | By Ryan McPhee

Our love for this cast lasts forever. Broadway favorite Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Finding Neverland's Carolee Carmello, newcomer Sarah Charles Lewis and more will star in Tuck Everlasting on the Great White Way. Performances have been pushed back from the previously announced March 23, 2016 and will now begin on March 31 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The Casey Nicholaw-helmed production will open on April 26.

Keenan-Bolger takes on the role of Jesse Tuck, with Carmello and Lewis as Ma Tuck and Winnie Foster, respectively. Additional cast members will include Robert Lenzi as Miles, Terrence Mann as Man in the Yellow Suit, Michael Park as Angus, Fred Applegate as Constable Joe, Valerie Wright as Betsy Foster and Michael Wartella as Hugo.

The full principal cast, with the exception of Wright, reprise their performances from the musical’s world premiere at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. The out-of-town engagement ended its run in February.

Keenan-Bolger’s Broadway credits include Newsies, Mary Poppins, Seussical and Beauty and the Beast, as well as Ever After at Paper Mill Playhouse. Carmello, who will take on the role of Ma Tuck, currently appears in Finding Neverland on the Great White Way and earned Tony nominations for her performances in Parade, Lestat and Scandalous. Lewis, at just 11-years-old, recently starred in Atlanta Lyric Theatre’s Annie. Lenzi made his Main Stem debut in South Pacific. Mann earned a Tony nod for his recent Broadway performance in Pippin; he was also nominated for Beauty and the Beast and Les Miserables. Park has appeared on the Great White Way in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Little Me. Applegate most recently hit the Broadway stage last fall in The Last Ship. Wright's previous credits include Elf, Annie Get Your Gun and Steel Pier. Wartella made his Broadway debut in 2013 in Wicked.

Featuring music by Chris Miller, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and a book by Claudia Shear, Tuck Everlasting follows a young girl and her friendship with Jesse Tuck and his family, who become immortal after drinking from an enchanted spring. Based on the 1975 children’s novel by Natalie Babbitt, the story has twice been adapted for the screen.

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
