Addams Family Road Trip! National Tour to Launch in September, Starring Douglas Sills and Sara Gettelfinger

Broadway vets Douglas Sills and Sara Gettelfinger will headline the upcoming national tour of The Addams Family, playing creepy, kooky parents Gomez and Morticia Addams. As previously announced, the tour will launch on September 15 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans, LA, and continue on to more than 30 major cities including St. Louis, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Boston, Hartford, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Memphis, San Diego, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Additional casting has yet to be announced.

Inspired by the popular comic series, The Addams Family follows the bizarre crew as their daughter Wednesday brings home a "normal" boyfriend and his midwestern parents for dinner. The Broadway show currently stars Roger Rees as Gomez, Bebe Neuwith as Morticia, Jackie Hoffman as Grandma, Brad Oscar as Uncle Fester, Rachel Potter as Wednesday, Adam Riegler as Pugsley, Heidi Blickenstaff as Alice Beineke, Jesse Swenson as Luke Beineke, Adam Grupper as Mal Beineke and Zachary James as Lurch.

Sills received a Best Actor Tony nomination for playing the title role in The Scarlet Pimpernel and appeared on Broadway in Little Shop of Horrors and in the Encores! productions of Music in the Air and and Carnival. His previous national tour credits include The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Secret Garden and Into the Woods. Sills recently starred in the Chicago premiere of the musical White Noise.

Gettelfinger most recently appeared in John Guare's A Free Man of Color at Lincoln Center. Her other Broadway credits include Seussical the Musical, The Boys from Syracuse, Nine and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

The Addams Family, which bowed on Broadway on April 8, 2010, features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed and designed (sets and costumes) by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, with creative consultation by Jerry Zaks and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Lighting design is by Natasha Katz, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and puppetry by Basil Twist.
