'Motown The Musical'
'Motown' will be the groove that counts in Portland through June 19.

Portland will be singing along to some of the most memorable songs in music history when Motown The Musical opens on June 14 at the Keller Auditorium. The record-breaking smash hit show will play through June 19.

The show, starring Chester Gregory as label founder Berry Gordy and Allison Semmes as the dazzling Diana Ross, follows Gordy’s rise from small-town dreamer to big-time record mogul. Coming along for the ride are a host of other Motown legends including Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. With over 40 classic songs such as “My Girl,” “What’s Going On,” “Dancing in the Street,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” this explosive theatrical event is the next chapter of Motown’s incredible history—and an experience you’ll never forget.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, Motown The Musical features Jesse Nager as Smokey Robinson, Jarran Muse as Marvin Gaye, and Leon Outlaw, Jr. and Nathaniel Cullors as Berry Gordy's boyhood counterpart and the roles of young stars Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
